about Spring, Wind, and Flowers

Hayeon and Baek Seungji treat spring as an unsettled season on Spring, Wind and Flowers. Its ten songs move through fresh starts and breakups alongside naps and the difficulty of getting through a day. The title track compresses the season from first greeting to goodbye. The rest of the album spends longer with the people living through it.

loose leaves

i already loved hayeon’s compositions

i loved seungji’s voice too

hayeon mainly composes and plays piano but she sang on this album too

i loved her singing it made this record mean more to me

we tracked everything at my studio

i loved hearing what happened when those two worked together

we made the tracks in no particular order

but a listening order was taking shape in my head

i put the sequence together and sent it to them

it made sense to them too

after it came out i kept playing the whole album

i still do sometimes
