A classical guitarist trained in Madrid and Salzburg, Ricardo Hwang performs alone here. With no backing track, the program gives the guitar the whole stage, moving from the prelude to La Catedral through “Una Canción Para Mi Madre” and “Estrellita.”
No Editing, No Retouch, Just One Take.
This series started with an idea from CHERRYJAVELIN. We make it together. He handles video and I handle live recording and mixing.
This set is classical guitar on its own, with no backing track. I captured the performance live and mixed the recording.

ole was interning with me at the time

i hadn’t expected that part of the day

my mic was close too
you can hear each breath as he plays
i wanted to hear a person right there with the guitar
we redid one piece because his water bottle was in the frame
he asked if we could remove it with computer graphics
we asked for another performance instead
i liked the second performance even more
