i’d had some nihonshu and was just about to go to bed
the composer called about an old demo
dante had written the song i’d produced the demo
so i headed back to the studio
i called dante in the states
a lyricist friend came over to fit the words to the show
i reworked the production for the singer’s key
we spent the night on it
that demo became “shadows on the wall”
i went to the vocal session the next day
it all moved fast
suddenly i was hearing my mix on television
after the first broadcast i bought a new acoustic guitar
and redid the part before the final mix
then i got to sit in on that mix
it was a lot to take in on my first television job
when the show wrapped we all went out for dinner
i enjoyed being there with the whole team
