U_Chae’s first solo EP links waking up to both music and love. The title track combines UK garage with electro house. Her self-written “Wait for You” and “At That Moment” look at opposite ends of a relationship. “Alright” brings in funk before “One Sweet Day” closes with a message to fans.

loose leaves
i produced all the vocals and mixed the ep
i also produced “wait for you” and “one sweet day”
“awake” had english lyrics from the start
i worked with friends with room to follow my taste
i’d wanted a song like “wait for you” i was so proud of how it turned out
the riff and rhythm and all those small details
she found that feel and she likes that song too
i built a bus-stop atmosphere at the beginning of “wait for you”
to my ears it sounded more like a bus terminal
i synthesized the little clicks too a colleague loved that sound
after we finished the ep she took guitar lessons from me
i helped her choose a guitar
we visited the shop where i’d bought the guitar for “shadows on the wall”
she bought her guitar case there
we once played together in the library where i live
it was empty so we had a little room to make noise
